History of Panforte
The history of Panforte goes back to the 13th century in Siena Tuscany. Also known as Siena Cake. Originally prepared by the local monks in the monasteries and given as gifts to the noble families. Recipes for Panforte vary from families to families and often the spices used are well kept secrets. There is now a variety of Panforte. The traditional Panforte contains candid cedro and black pepper. Our Panforte are based on our family recipes.
